Within each attempt to model the Earth System a multitude of algorithms are deployed to mathematically describe the fundamental aspects and processes of nature. As our scientific understanding of natural processes improves, we can expect the algorithms to improve. Additionally, the mathematical methods themselves can evolve and improve.
